Hello group!
I just wanted to open up a post for us to begin brainstorming for the rough draft for our concept map. Here are a couple of questions that I thought of to get us started.
There are so many directions to go as far as weather is concerned, which direction do we want to go? Are we going to be focused on the more scientific concepts of weather?
Are we going to keep a daily weather journal of temperatures, humidity, precipitation, etc? If so, are each of us going to keep a separate journals since I know that at least me and Leah are in different locations?
I am not sure if I am on the right track as far as our project is concerned. If the professor would like to comment to clarify the assignment, it would be appreciated.
Any other ideas or suggestions?
I love the idea of each keeping a weather journal...maybe just a few days a week? Like one person could do MWF and another do TRS and then the third person do Sunday and something else to go along with our project? I may keep my weather journal on my own personal blogspot, which i will give you the link for as well. I will continue to work on some exciting ideas for this project though, too!
ReplyDeleteSo keeping a weather journal is definitely a go then. I think we should do it on this blog though so it is easier to keep track of and since we only get credit for what we do here.
ReplyDeleteSo there are seven days. Let's split the days then. We could each just do two days and just leave the odd day off since it won't affect that much.
Did you read the announcement? It has a sample for the concept map. She also explained what we will be doing throughout the semester. It seems like we will be coming up with kind of like a project for future students of ours or unit lesson that is project based. The subject being weather monitoring.
So the concept map will be a brainstorming technique for possible subjects that we can cover, for example, we can do dew point, humidity, temperature, precipitation, etc.
I will set up a blog for weather journal. Let me know what days you want and we can start next week.
The weather journal can be one activity that our students can participate in. We need to figure out different projects how students can be involved in learning about weather.
ReplyDeleteSounds great! I have yet to read the elearning posts, but i will check it shortly. I can do both Tuesday and Thursday, if that works for you? Thanks for getting a head start on everything!
ReplyDeleteOops! Just saw the other post...i can do Monday and Wednesday then!
ReplyDeleteI think a weather journal is a great idea to promote writing and science everyday. There are so many different experiments to do but they range of all different ages
ReplyDeleteAre we going to focus on a certain part of the weather since there are so many different areas???
ReplyDeleteI will do the weather journal TRS!
ReplyDeleteAlyssa, do you mind taking W & Sat or Sun, since I am doing T&TH and Leah is doing M&W?
