  1. This information is what I had in mind for the weather journal...is this what you were thinking?

We should also think of ways that the kids can get this information. Maybe they could go outside and get the temperature & wind direction themselves. We also can teach them to look up different web resources like weather.com to find the information.

  2. great plans so far! Okay- i will have the concept map in a working form and show you guys some time this weekend. Are we basically putting our ideas for our topic into a concept map? For example, the terms on the map would be like...weather journal, websites, etc?

  3. Yes, I believe that is the purpose. Hopefully we can think of a few more before Sunday. I will post them as I think of them. If I understand right, the age group of the students we are working with are third graders?

Maybe put a lot of the terms related to weather and later we can plan activities and projects that go along with them.

Leah, if you want to post the concept map here in the blog...I can check back periodically during the weekend and help brainstorm some more ideas. Sometimes it helps me to see it concretely.

  4. So, for the project, are we creating a "unit" of stuff including all subjects like math, english, social studies, etc? or....i guess i am still confused about what we are really creating for our end product.

And yes, i will get you guys the concept map.
